Shady Tree Studio Christmas In July Release

Hello everyone!  Well... I'm late to the party, the blog hop the team had today.  I just couldn't get Blogger to work for me.  Sheesh!  Nancy was so sweet to share my project on here blog, which you can see on her blog.  But, I finally have my Blogger powers back and thought I'd share my project with you here.

Heaven and Nature Sing

I often think that clean and simple isn't my style, but I often gravitate to it.  Isn't that ironic?  I stamped the sweet little bear from Naturally Christmas and colored with copic markers.  She was popped up on the cardfront over a border created from the Homespun Holiday set.  I even added the little holly leaves to give her a festive vibe.

Thanks for stopping by and sorry I was late!

CPS Sketch # 228 - No Sponsor

Hello!  It's CPS sketch project time again.  I wasn't sponsored this week, so I had a little fun with a set I had on hand from My Favorite Things.

Miss You

This is pretty close to clean and simple... just a bit of patterned paper instead of planned white space.  But, it's fun.  I kept the coloring to a minimum and let the image speak for itself.

Thanks for visiting,

Outlines Rubber Stamp Challenge - Christmas in July

Hello!!!  It's Monday and time for a new Outlines Rubber Stamp design team challengeJoin the Design Team in our weekly challenges with a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate each week!  Please check out the details of how to play and win on the Outlines Blog

This week our challenge was to create a holiday card to celebrate Christmas in July!  There are SO many fabulous holiday images at Outlines that the hardest part of this challenge will be picking only one.  I hope you'll create along with us this week!

Peace
This beautiful dove is a perfect image for holiday cards.  I stamped and embossed the Flying Peace Dove (G-1117) on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  The background was all colored with BG10 to give a realistic sky for my peaceful dove.   What's difficult to see from my photo is all the shimmer to the cardfront.  I added AB Swarovski Crystals and Silver Glitter Liner pen by Viva.  I really love the amazing shine that the Silver Glitter Liner adds to my image.  It's amazing in real life and is the perfect way to adhere my crystals!  Rounding out the design, I used a black multiliner to hand draw a simple frame.

I'd love it if you stopped by to visit the other designers for more inspiration.  I'd love it if you'd visit everyone and leave some love!  And don't forget you can join in our fun!

Little Lamb

Hello!  I have another Shady Tree Studio project to share with you.  We've started with sneak peaks on the newest Shady Tree Studio sets to be released at the end of the month.  While the sets are definitely Christmas sets, there's so much potential to be used for more than holiday cards.

Little Lamb

It seems like I'm always in need of a baby card.  Ladies at work, family members and friends are all expecting lately.  I stamped the darling lamb and colored with copic markers.  To give my card a patchwork feel, I die cut three colored squares and added a bit of paper piercing for texture.

Thanks for visiting and I'll have a holiday card for you next week!

CPS Sketch # 227 - Want2Scrap

Hello!  It's time for another CPS Sketch project.  This week's sponsor is Want2Scrap.

Find Joy

I was in a super girlie mood when I created this card.  I found a few bits of the lovely Lily Bee Designs paper and went from there.  I tend to start most of my projects with the image first and then try to find a patterned paper that will fit... this time was the reverse!  I had a bit of tulle I'd trimmed off my daughter's party dress and used a bit as a littlle whimsy on the card.  I love found bits!  And of course, the Nestabling was just amazing!  I have a feeling I'll be a frequent flyer buyer at Want2Scrap.  Their selection is amazing!

Silver Bells

Hello!  I have another Christmas in July project to share with you from Shady Tree Studio.

Silver Bells

I love to use paint in my stamped projects.  I stamped and embossed the bell from Winter Day stamp set.  I stamped it a second time to paper piece the bow on top.  Then, to color in the bell, I used some silver paint and lightly painted in the image.  Before the paint dried, I gently wiped the image with a paper towel to remove the paint from the embossed lines.  It's just perfect to give this bell life!  See all that shimmer?

You Dig Me?

If you haven't seen the sweet sets by There She Goes, you need to run (not walk) to check them out!  I fell in love with the "My Little Friend" stamp set - at first sight.  Something about silly garden gnomes makes me happy!

I colored this little guy with copic markers and airbrushed the die-cut flower.

Outlines Rubber Stamp Challenge - Polka Dots

Hello!!!  It's Monday and time for a new Outlines Rubber Stamp design team challengeJoin the Design Team in our weekly challenges with a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate each week!  Please check out the details of how to play and win on the Outlines Blog

This week our challenge was to create a card with polka dots - either in the stamp or with embossing... whatever!  I hope you'll create along with us this week!

Hi!

This is one really bright card, isn't it?  I paired teal with yellow and red for a fun and cheerful card.  I stamped the Funky Flower 2 image three times with Black Soot Distress ink and embossed with clear.  Each of the flowers were colored with copic markers and carefully trimmed.  I also cut along each petal so I could layer and make this a really full flower.  I filled in each of the dots on the flowers with Ice White Viva pearl pen.

Here's a view from the side:

I'd love it if you stopped by to visit the other designers for more inspiration.  I'd love it if you'd visit everyone and leave some love!  And don't forget you can join in our fun!

Vintage Skates

Hello!  Happy Friday!  I have a project to share with you to celebrate Christmas in July with Shady Tree Studio!

Vintage Skates

I had a lot of fun creating this project.  I stamped the skates image on Natural White cardstock and carefully colored with Copic markers.  Then, to give it an aged look, I used a sanding block and gently rubbed over the whole image.  Distress inks were then swiped over the image to age the image to match the patterned paper.  Super easy!

Hello!!!  It's Monday and time for a new Outlines Rubber Stamp design team challengeJoin the Design Team in our weekly challenges with a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate each week!  Please check out the details of how to play and win on the Outlines Blog

This week our challenge was to create a card with Red as a prominent color.  I hope you'll create along with us this week!

Stars and Stripes

I kept this design super simple... stamping Fancy Frame (K-1185) on some red Core'dinations cardstock.  I carefully trimmed out my Fancy Frame and used it to highlight my red, white and navy blue "star" pinwheels.  Fun, right?

I'd love it if you stopped by to visit the other designers for more inspiration.  We have two new and fabulous designers joining us for the second half of the year.  I'd love it if you'd visit everyone and leave some love!  And don't forget you can join in our fun!

Anniversay Wishes

Hello!  My parents recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.  We all got together to help them celebrate!

Happy Anniversary

I created a simple card to mirror the lovely light yellow gowns that my mom's bridesmaids wore 40 years ago.  I used all white prima flowers and lightly inked a bit of yellow ink to the center of each with a sponge.  Each were adhered to the front of my card (a false front) with gold brads.

Happy Birthday

Hello.  My mom's birthday was on the first day of Summer... so we celebrated with the family on Father's Day.  It was a fabulous day!

Happy Birthday

I felt like creating an elegant card and matching tag for my mom.  I used Lily Bee Design Picket Fence papers and stamps, lovely trims I've been hoarding, and Prima flowers.
